What is this Perfect Gluten Free Apple Crisp? This recipe for Apple crisp is made up of two layers. On the bottom layer of this apple crisp, it is made up of apples that have been wash, peeled, and sliced. After the apples have been prepared, they are coated with Cinnamon and Sugar. This gluten free apple crisp is so good and its super simple to make! This apple crisp is amazing hot and severed with a scoop of ice cream!

Ingredients

  • 16 golden apples
  • 4 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 cup brown sugar (dark or light depending on your preference)
  • 1 1/2 cup gluten free old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cold butter (chilled and cubed)

Instructions

Start by preheating the oven to 350ºF. Butter a 9x13 casserole pan, or spray with non-stick cooking spray.

Rinse, peel, and chop the apples and place them in a large bowl. In the bowl mix the white sugar, 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon, and the lemon juice together until the apples are fully coated. Pour the apples onto the pan and spread around the pan and set aside.

In a separate mixing bowl, add the brown sugar, oats, flour, the rest of the cinnamon, salt, and the butter. Use a pastry cutter to mix the butter into the mixture (you can also use two knives or your hands).

Pour the mixture over the apples in the pan and spread it around and pack it down. Once the apples are fully covered, place uncovered in the oven and bake for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes your Gluten Free Apple Crisp is done!
