The 5 Sugars To Keep In Your Pantry At All Times

What are the five sugars you should always have on hand? Here is a list of my favorites that you can use to make anything.

1. White Sugar. White sugar is a staple. White sugar is the most common sugar. White sugar is used in recipes varying from Pastries to Baguettes and many more.

2. Brown Sugar. Brown sugar is made with White Sugar and molasses. There are two types of brown sugar, Dark Brown Sugar and Light Brown sugar. Dark brown sugar is made with more molasses, light brown sugar is made with less molasses.

3. Confectioners Sugar. Confectioners sugar (also known as Powdered sugar) is a very fine sugar that is used to make Frosting or Glaze. In countries out of the United states might sell other options such as Castor sugar and Icing sugar. Confectioners sugar is a bit finer then Castor sugar but they both work the same.

4. Maple Syrup. Maple Syrup is a paleo sugar substitute. Maple Syrup can be used in recipes varying from Bread to Pastries.

5. Raw Honey. Raw Honey is perfect for when you want to sweeten your tea. Raw Honey can also be used in bread. Raw Honey is very good for the body, it can help soothe a sore throat and many other things.

Optional Sugars

These sugars can be helpful in the kitchen although I do not consider them staples.

1. Coconut Sugar. Coconut Sugar is also known as Coconut Palm Sugar. Coconut Sugar comes from the dehydrated sap of a coconut tree

2. Stevia and Splenda. Stevia and Splenda are the most common low calorie sweeteners. A alternative sweetener to Splenda is Stevia. Stevia is considered more natural.

3. Erythritol. Erythritol is a very popular sugar used on the Keto Diet.

4. Agave Syrup. Agave Syrup is a plant from the desert that is harvested to make agave syrup. Agave Syrup was believed to have healing powers.
